# Right now I'm pretty damn frustrated with LiveJournal or my computer, or whatever it is that is causing my journal layouts to misbehave. The layout I'd been using for these last couple of days looked messed up when I added a header and even though the pictured showed up, it didn't blend in with the rest of the layout like planned. This one I'm using right now when writing this entry sure is weird too. The font colors of the entries are not in sync for some reason and the header, once again, is misbehaving. And I'm not able to fix it the problems on my own as always, although you'd think I'd be pretty good at it by now. I like the current header so I'll keep it but I'd like for it to actually fit the layout, which is something I'll try to work on these coming days. Like, turning on the navigation for example!

# The room makeover is in full swing with one big exception; I haven't gotten any of the furniture yet. Or the new wallpaper. But I at least know, for the most part, what I'll be getting at IKEA next month. My parents decided to buy me a completely new bed instead of me buying someone else's used bed, so that's pretty much a done deal. I myself will be paying for a new coffee table, a previously owned sofa, a new TV unit, a new rug and possibly a gorgeous new mirror chest. (Okay, so it might not sound all that exciting but wait until you see the pictures!)

# So, it's finally time to talk about fandoms...
♥ You all know my ever-so-strong Smallville obsession, so I won't bore you with details. (Except for the fact that the ending of last week's episode "Crossfire" totally blew my mind! I shall not go into details due to spoiler risk.)
♥ Anyways, I've also fallen in love with The Mentalist even more now that I've started watching the second season. I'm dying for Jane and Lisbon to get together but in the mean time I'll cheer on Rigsby and Van Pelt!
♥ Then there's Supernatural which I have taken a liking to recently thanks to a friend of mine. We had a Supernatural marathon two weeks ago before she left for Los Angeles and I've now started watching the fifth season, no longer spooked by the show. Well, not as much anymore. And as most fangirls, yes, I do tend to drool a bit whenever Jensen Ackles shows up on screen.

# So I guess you can say my LJ hiatus is over. Whatever that means. Life has been keeping me busy since I came back from Bulgaria (sorry of this is a repeat from the previous entry, I don't remember what I wrote last time) and yeah, Grandmother's death did affect me more than I thought it would. Anyways, things are pretty much back to normal now so I'm focusing mostly on work. But I also treasure the new season of Smallville with its obvious Clois scenes. That alone brightens my week quite a bit but naturally the people around me does a lot too.

# What's currently taking up space in my head is the makeover of my room, well the entire upstairs of the house really. I'll be getting new pretty wallpapers for my room and also some new/previously owned furniture that I feel I really want/need. The rest of the upstairs just needs a modern touch so that's nothing that will take up my time. But these days I like to stay as busy as possible without actually getting stressed out. And so far that hasn't happened.

Since I'm in no mood to write one of those long "I'm back" entries, due to work and family stuff, I'll just go ahead and officially let you guys know that I'm back from my vacation in Bulgaria. I won't be updating my journal very frequently now that I'm back at the clinic again. Plus, with my grandmother dying and everything, I'm not exactly in the sharing mood for the time being. But I'm also keeping busy with other stuff besides work which is about the only thing keeping me sane right now. So I'll see you around... eventually.

# I'm sitting here trying to think of how to start off this entry. Some major things has taken place since my last entry. Well, one major thing. My grandmother (on my father's side) past away in the hospital two days ago. Like I mentioned earlier probably, she's been in and out of the hospital a few times lately. Eventually, her body were filled with blood clots and then the doctors discovered a tumor in one of her lungs. She didn't respond to any of the medications the doctors tried so little over a week ago they said there was nothing more they could do for her. In just one month's time, my grandmother went from being herself to withering away in a hospital bed. She always managed herself in every way possible and the beginning of the end was when she slipped and fell on the bathroom floor. I'm not going to recap everything again, but just thinking about how fast things developed is probably what makes her death so hard to process. I haven't had a very close relationship with her because she wasn't the emotional type, but she was my grandmother. I spent countless hours playing with the dollhouse in her apartment after school and she was the person I called when my parents got into a screaming match with each other. Emotional or not, she was there for me when I actually needed her. She lost her partner of 15 years on the operating table a few years back and you never really recover from something like that. And as I got older, I developed other priorities and in the end we hardly had anything to talk about when left alone in a room together. So I guess what makes me the most sad about her death is the fact that my father lost his mother too soon. And to think that we were suppose to celebrate her 80th birthday next week.

# Tomorrow marks the first day back at the animal clinic for mer after my five weeks of vacation. What an end to the vacation. It's a bittersweet reunion with the girls' at the clinic. In a way, I'm relieved to stay busy during the days again and it will keep my mind off of my grandmother. Then there's the smaller things, like not getting to sleep in anymore except on the weekends. Within a few days, however, I will be readjusted to the working hours again.
The people at the clinic are also a great bunch considering they're only humans. Sure, there are some days I annoy myself with one or another but it's like that at every workplace sometimes. When it comes down to it, I feel blessed to have had my first (unpaid) job experience at the animal clinic with them. Not to mention that I also miss the dogs of course. And with autumn comes great things and opportunities, we mustn't forget that. I for one are planning on making some major changes that should've taken place ages ago.

I finally got tired of my boring text header, deciding to actually use a picture again. Scored some really beautiful pictures off Google few days ago and felt like turning some of them into journal header and profile banner. I gotta say, I'm liking the results on both accounts. Also added a few new icons, one of which I am responsible for making. However, I don't know which one to credit for the other icons. All icons that are "unknown" to me are marked with [Let Me Know!] so if any of you guys recognize a user icon, don't hesitate to let me know who the creator is! ♥

# My luck keeps changing on me. The DVD player I was returning a few days ago? Well, yesterday I found out I was going to be able to pick out a new one for the same prize. I could hardly believe that things was actually going my way, even if it only involved a DVD player and nothing major. So I took the bus into town today to pick out a new shiny DVD player, but when I plugged it in and everything at home I realized that it was a little bit too loud compared to my previous DVD player. Not deafening loud and most people would probably not be bothered but sadly, I am not one of those people. Blame it on sensitive hearing or paranoia or whatever, but I'm not keeping this new Samsung DVD. I called the Samsung support line and like expected, he told me to return to the store where I "bought" it and let them try it on. Even if it doesn't make that annoying humming sound in the store, I'll be changing it for a different DVD player. Possibly an LG because my old one from 2002 still works like a charm, only catch is that it will only play R2 DVD's. So, none of my movies I bought in the States. There's always something the matter...

# On Friday morning, me and the parents are getting some well deserved R&R from home. We're driving up north to visit two of my older brothers. The oldest of the two have recently bought a house so I'm pretty curious to see how it looks. And as usual, I can hardly wait to see Killian again. Now that I'm no longer a dog owner myself, Killian has sort of become my surrogate dog. Dogs bring so much joy to your life, I don't even wanna imagine about a life without a dog by my side. Sure, kids are pretty great too, but dogs has got to be my favorite creature in the whole world. You dog owners out there know what I'm talking about. ;)

# My fan fiction deadline is slowly closing in. Ironically enough, the plot bunnies are hard at work when I'm not in front of the computer. They pretty much shut down from time to time just because I made time to sit down and write on the computer. Writer's block is such a pain when deep down, you want to continue writing until the story is finished. Especially with the upcoming 9th season of Smallville, I feel that the story needs to be done before the season premiere. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the plot bunnies will make an appearance while I'm in front of the computer.

# So it's been ages since my last update. Well, life has been keeping me busy, both with the little things and big things. For example, my grandmother is in the hospital for the second time in three/four weeks. She just went in earlier this evening because she was at the risk of suffering a blood clot, after only being home for three days after a visit at the hospital and then rehab home due to her operation. She also suffered pneumonia the first time around at the hospital so that first night she was in pretty critical condition after a lifetime of being healthy. But I have faith in the Swedish hospital care system so I'm not super worried, although then again I'm not allowing myself thinking too much about it either.

# Another pretty big thing is that me and two friends are going overseas to Golden Sands, Bulgaria in September for a week. This will be my second overseas trip in the same year and that's a new personal record for me. Bulgaria is also a completely new country for me to discover, much like Egypt was. I have yet to compile a list of all things to bring with me, but I still got over four weeks left to do that. I'm due back at the clinic again August 24 after five weeks of vacation, which is mostly spent just relaxing at home. Sure, I like to keep busy but in the end it's actually very important to relax during the vacation since you tend to stay really busy during the work season. Only sad thing now is that all my favorite shows are on hiatus. :(

# Luckily I finally got to pick up my four ordered books today! Summer is the season of the year where I read the most. I'm a big fan of Sarah Dessen and her book Just Listen I've been meaning to get my hands on for nearly three years now. At last I ordered Just Listen and Lock and Key as well as two Kelley Armstrong books, The Awakening and The Summoning. Armstrong's books are actually kind of like BTVS from what I've gathered from the synopsis. I'm planning on start reading the first book in the trilogy, The Awakening, tomorrow and see what it's all about.

# Also, it seems that almost every electronic thing I own, currently hates me. I'm going into town tomorrow to trade in my current DVD player for a new one of the same value, due to the busted DVD remote. My totally incompetent laptop needs a complete makeover, including any other system than Windows Vista. My cellphone will be handed into my closest operator store to be send off for a two-weeks-service since something is wrong with its software. Don't get me wrong, I love the English language, but when you can't choose another language on a Swedish cellphone and the problem isn't the SIM card, something is not right. And last but not least, my digital recording box needs a software update because right now it keeps shutting off and rebooting whenever it feels like it. So basically, my iPod is the only thing behaving right now and that can change pretty quickly with my incredible luck.
